14 April, 2006 Technical Release Bulletin – DVC System Programming Tool, Program Loader Monitor and BIOS Release 4.2
High Country Tek is releasing a new revision of the DVC System Programming Tool, the Program Loader Monitor and BIOS files for the DVC module family. This release, Rev 4.2 supersedes Rev 4.0, and is intended to ensure all functionality of the DVC System is at the highest possible level consistent with HCT quality standards.
Each new release of the Programming Tool and Program Loader Monitor contain new and enhanced features plus normal software maintenance updates.
The following are the new features and maintenance upgrades in Release 4.2:
1. Addition of an application simulation tool supported for offline debugging of applications 2. Enhanced Text Editor for Always and Bubble code. Support for text color highlighting, a text block tab capability and virtually unlimited edit undo. 3. Performance Tuning and flexible logic sequence scheduling using logic sequence groups. 4. DVC5 and DVC10 support in one Programming Tool and Program Loader Monitor. 5. Improved Compiler error reporting. 6. Logic Sequence Copy and Paste 7. Virtual Display, (DVC65) and DVC61 screen copy and paste. 8. DVC80 J1939 Message Copy and Paste 9. Several miscellaneous non critical bug fixes and Graphical User Interface improvements 10. New DVC5/10 BIOS that improves the overall system performance by a factor of two. 11. Private variables are supported to make a variable only known to the logic sequence in which it is declared. This is convenient for reuse of logic sequences. 12. Bubble execution tracing to aid debugging is provided using the Logic sequence specific “.currentbubble” string variable.
All applications compiled using the current Programming Tool 4.0 will work with this release. You do not need to recompile your application using the Rev 4.2 DVC software.
DVC products shipped after 14 April will incorporate this Rev 4.2 release. You may mix revision levels of DVC products in a single system.
Please contact HCT for further information.
1 March, 2005 - Technical Release Bulletin – DVC70 BIOS Maintenance Release
High Country Tek has released a new revision of the DVC70 BIOS file. This release, Rev 4.2, is intended to ensure functionality of the DVC70 at the highest possible level consistent with HCT quality standards.
In certain conditions the DVC70 will “hang” while attempting to retrieve the data log. The symptom of this problem is that the DVC70 will appear to be in programming mode and you will not be able to access the DVC70 until the BIOS is re-loaded.
HCT strongly recommends that you upgrade all you your DVC70 expansion modules BIOS’s to Rev 4.2.
Please contact HCT for further information.
2 August, 2004 - Technical Release Bulletin – DVC Product Family & BIOS Release 4.0
High Country Tek has released a new revision of the DVC System Programming Tool, the Program Loader Monitor and BIOS files for the DVC module family. This release, Rev 4.0, is intended to ensure all functionality of the DVC System is at the highest possible level consistent with HCT quality standards.
High Country Tek has also released an upgraded DVC10. The hardware change will improve the speed of the memory in the DVC10. This will improve the DVC10 performance as well as the overall DVC system performance when combined with the 4.0 software. The upgraded DVC10 product will be identified with the revision letter “B”. For simple identification purposes, all DVC10 hardware shipped at Rev B will include a separate revision block on the DVC10 label and include the designation “Rev B”.
All DVC10’s and DVC expansion modules produced after 2 August will be shipped with DVC Software Rev 4.0. You may mix revision levels of DVC products in a single system, however, when you install a DVC10 Rev B in your system, HCT recommends that you upgrade all your DVC10’s and expansion modules BIOS’s to Rev 4.0. All DVC products currently in the field will work with DVC10 Rev B. HCT strongly recommends that all applications developed with previous versions of the DVC System Software and Programming Tool be recompiled and downloaded using the Rev 4.0 DVC Software.
High Country Tek is continuing to enhance and upgrade our products to meet customer and industry demand. We are working hard to remain your mobile hydraulics control partner. We will keep you informed as we release many more new products over the coming months.
Please contact HCT for further information and to receive the DVC Product Family & BIOS Maintenance Release 4.0.
