The
HGC
Hydraulic Generator Controller is used to regulate the frequency output of
an AC generator. By monitoring the output signal of a generator, the
controller will drive a proportional valve’s solenoid to reach and maintain
the set-point frequency.
FEATURES
Inputs:
●
AC Generator: 100VAC to 175VAC(RMS), 0-200Hz signal.
●
Enable In: +5.0 to +30 VDC to activate and open or ground to deactivate (10K
ohm connection to ground)
Output:
●
+Coil – Sources +Power to the valve solenoid.
●
-Coil – Sinks current from the valves solenoid. (Up to 3.33 Ampere from a
24V power supply)
Software Overview
This
device is a closed loop controller. During operation, the coil output will
be set as required to cause the frequency of the feedback input from the
generator to match the Target Frequency set point. Pulse Width Modulation
(PWM) is used to control the voltage seen by the coil and thus the current
through the coil. Generally, as the coil current rises (>PWM%) the generator
output frequency will increase.
The
data log will contain the unit settings and real time “snapshots” of:
●
PWM%
●
Supply Volts
● Generator Frequency
●
Elapsed Time during the logging operation
