Opto2000 Serial Data Communication System

The Opto2000 System allows HCT microprocessor-based controllers to communicate with a PC through an optically-coupled serial port. This eliminates the possibility of damage to the PC or the unit with the connection impervious to dirt and corrosion.  The Opto2000 may be used with various HCT LabView® software programs to communicate with different HCT controllers Power-Line (PLD), HP, PR, HFS & HFS-2 & HGC.

¨        9 pin RS232 Serial Cable (RS232 to USB Adapter recommendations)

¨        110VAC to 9VDC Converter

Custom User Settings:

The Opto-2000 System allows the user to customize parameters including the following:

¨        Minimum/maximum valve current values

¨        PID settings

¨        Ramp times

¨        Dither frequencies

¨        Amplitudes

¨        Re-program Flash Memory
 

Note:  These parameters are saved to the EEPROM portion of the microcontroller and can also be saved to a file on the PC. The file can then be sent to High Country Tek and we will preset any future controllers to your custom settings. All controllers can restore their parameters from previously saved files with the simple press of a button in the LabView software screen.  Setup software is ordered separately.

Powerful Tuning and Troubleshooting Tool:

LabView user interface software is available as an option to add tuning and troubleshooting capabilities to the system including the following:

¨         Change setup parameters for the controller, as well as display of system inputs and outputs.

¨         Setup and display features dramatically enhance device commissioning and troubleshooting.

¨         Data log files can be saved to the PC for later analysis.

Note:  PC/Laptop that has Windows XP or higher, a minimum of 8 MB of RAM, (16 MB or more is recommended) and an RS-232 serial port is required.

Portable:

The Opto-2000 will operate for hours on a 9V battery included with the unit. This allows tuning by a laptop while the machine is online. The battery is discharged only while the PC is communicating with the unit. A 110 VAC to 9 VDC Converter is included with the unit for operation when in stationary use, eliminating the need for the battery.
